What is Home Assistant Green?
Home Assistant Green is an official Home Assistant hub that runs Home Assistant out of the box. No installation, no setup headaches. Plug it in, connect it to your network, and you're running local smart home control.
It supports Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread, and Matter when paired with the appropriate USB adapters. Matter over Wi-Fi works without extra hardware. Proprietary ecosystems that force cloud lock-in are intentionally avoided.
Why buy from a Canadian store instead of ordering from the US?
The exchange rate kills you before you even get to shipping. Then there's duties - sometimes you get hit, sometimes you don't, and you won't know until it shows up.

Do I need to be technical to use Home Assistant?
Not anymore. The Green comes with Home Assistant already installed. Most devices just show up automatically. You're not editing config files unless you want to.
That said, if you do want to tinker, you can. It's the difference between driving an automatic and having a manual option when you want it.
What's the difference between the ZBT-2 and ZWA-2?
ZBT-2 supports Zigbee or Thread (and enables Matter over Thread), but only one at a time. It's a single radio, so you choose which firmware to run.
ZWA-2 supports Z-Wave, which is older but extremely reliable, especially for door locks, switches, and sensors.
If you're starting fresh, ZBT-2 is usually the first pick. If you already have Z-Wave devices or want maximum reliability for locks, get the ZWA-2. If you want Zigbee and Thread at the same time, or Zigbee plus Z-Wave, many people run multiple adapters together.
